the world ushered in the new year on a solemn mood. even if there were voices of rejoice, many were saddened by the tsunami disaster tat happened just a week before 2005 entered.

seeing the vivid images of the tragedy further emphasized the seriousness of this incident. the personal stories published tugged the strings of readers, including me as we look upon this event with mixed emotions.

how do u feel?

for me, sadness engulfed me. many moments, i almost teared when i saw wad happened. the victims who died instantly, with their hands stil hanging in mid air. the parents crying at the loss of their children. the homes & hotels all destroyed by the killer waves.

but as i was feeling sad, my fren told me that there was a difference bw emphathy & symphathy. many people could look on & say "poor thing" but seriously life just seems to go on. which is why many stil could go on with New year countdowns & celebrations.

but thankfully there r stil many others who wanna shower these people with their love. the donations & amount collected has certainly encouraged me. seeing how our leader responded to the situation make me feel proud to be a Singaporean in certain ways.

i noe i also have 2 do my part. if i could, i will really wanna go down & help those people. anithing will do. digging thru the corpses, labelling 'em. anything, just to put these pple back on feet again. but i cun, so i initiated collecting a special fund tdae in church. then i will bring the cheque down tmr to SPH.

but whatever help i can give is limited, its the Lord who will provide them with all their needs.

Happy New Year to all!
