Alrite your highness!!!
I am updating...haha
BMR
Yeah! Its finally over! Thank God. Well, I felt tat it wasnt my best attempt but I did do my best to gather all the resources. Like i have mentioned in the lecture, I felt that i was just trying 2 bang thru everything. More like to meet a deadline than to really learn about what is required in a research paper.
But of cos, there is always the exams!! Everyone better start readinG!! somehow..haha.. on the bus, in the toilet, while watching TV... anithing lah
Singapore Idol
It's finally here! Have been waiting to watch this for a few reasons
- to capture ideas for entertainment multicam
- only source of TV entertainment.. irony is we are in a media course but so little time 2 watch TV!!! arghHHHH!!!
- sit back, relax, critique and guess who will win
I made predictions last nite and all my 3 got in! cool...
though i thought dick lee's comments on jane was qt weird..
"... you will go far...but only up to malacca.."
(dumbfounded Jane)
She probably thought: was tat meant to be sarcaism? but its just so weird..
i guess mani pple have their comments about Singaporeans cant make a singing career but u noe wad.. i dun think tat is the pt of Channel 5 doing this. Obviously they know there is no market for local English singers but why they do it?
Because AMI is one of the most watched shows. To exactly formulate the model is almost half the battle won. People will tune in and watch something they are familiar with. It's easy to do. Singapore has done it before with their Talentime competitions. Nothing's reallly new except for the phone lines stuff.
To get the ratings is kinda the most impt thing for a station. I think promoting the career for the winner will really be secondary. Just look at Fantasia Barrino and Diana Degarmo. I guess they will just as forgettable once the next batch of Idol hopefuls are up.
Of cos, there are exceptions such as Kelly Clarkson and Clay Aiken.
Let's hope there are some exceptions amongst this year's winnners.
Time for school!
