Bus 72 had longest bus queue ever.

Today at 6pm, commuters taking bus 72 from Tampines Bus Interchange saw the longest bus queue ever. They were waiting to board Bus 72 that would take them from Tampines to Hougang or Yio Chu Kang.

The queue stretched from the original bus stand of 72 to the next 3 bus booths behind it. Approximately 60 people were kept waiting for at least an hour for the buses.

The delay?

Uncle Bush was here in town to see Uncle Goh. He was here to catch up with hin since the last time Uncle Goh met him in his hometown to chit chat. Since Uncle Goh wanted to ensure his safety, road blocks were being placed and all vehicles had to come to a stop.

Most of the commuters waited patiently for the bus to arrive.

Long Wait Wait, 43, a retiree, said: "It is okay lahz. we just wait lah for the bus to come. Since got nothing to do also."

Another commuter, Tang Gu Gu, 24, a sales executive said: "We have no choice. This is the fastest route to my home. If I take the train, it will be even longer."

However, there were two polytechnic students who could not put up with the waiting. One of them approached the authorities at the bus interchange. She threatened to boycott the bus services if they did not give her a reasonable explanation.

Miss Bay Kia Xi, 19, said: "This is totally bad public relations. Since they know that there would be a delay, how could they make us wait here without making other arrangements! This is so unreasonable. I am never going to take another bus from here again."

She added that she would lodge a complaint to the relevant bus company involved.

Her classmate, who refused to be named was also upset with the arrangements.

She said:" I thought there was a car accident or something. They should make some public annoucements. Now, i have to take 969 to Yishun and change a train to Yio Chu Kang."

Both left the queue after a short 10 minute wait. When they left, there were still many others who were waiting patiently for their buses to arrive.

The bus company's spokesperson could not be reached in time for comments.
